How important is servanthood? Do we need to live a life serving others?
The Word of God tells us in Philippians 2:3-7 (ESV),
3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
Our Lord Jesus Christ portrayed servanthood even though He is equal to our God the Father. He humbled Himself and show His compassion to us and served God wholeheartedly for His glory.
This is the mindset God wants to His people that we live a life of servanthood. Serve others with the abilities God has given you. Even in the small things, serve others and bless others. You might not fathom it but those things that you share to others bring blessing to them. Do it humbly and out of selfishness. When you do that, it will glorify God.
I pray that we all live a life of servanthood each day of our lives. Glorifying God and magnifying His love for all of us. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
